Irwin Weltz , a member of the Firm, represents securities industry members and professionals in securities, employment, commercial and regulatory litigation and arbitration, as well as compliance matters.
Mr. Weltz represents broker-dealers and registered representatives in arbitration proceedings relating to customer, employment and industry disputes, and defends broker-dealers and their employees before the SEC, FINRA, NYSE and AMEX in investigations and disciplinary proceedings. He also provides counsel on compliance with securities and employment laws, rules and regulations, and represents issuers in private offerings. In addition, Mr. Weltz continues his traditional court litigation practice of representing parties before state and federal courts in a wide range of matters such as securities class actions, business disputes, criminal defense, shareholder and partnership controversies, derivative actions, employment disputes, SIPA liquidation proceedings and bankruptcy adversary proceedings.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Weltz was a partner at Brunelle, Hadjikow & Weltz, P.C., and before that, a partner at Sirota & Sirota LLP. He graduated cum laude from SUNY Albany, and received his Juris Doctor degree from
New York
Law
School . Mr. Weltz is admitted to practice law before the courts of New York and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of
New York.
