Joseph S. Nicotra, a member of the Firm, specializes in real estate law. Mr. Nicotra has broad-based transactional experience representing: lenders and borrowers in connection with commercial mortgage loans, mezzanine loans and other secured transactions (including in the context of defaults, workouts and foreclosures and deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure); sellers and purchasers of commercial real estate; lessors and lessees in commercial leasing arrangements and loan sellers and issuers in connection with commercial mortgage backed securities transactions.
Mr. Nicotra has direct experience with transactions involving: all types of real and personal property assets, including, office buildings, multi-family properties, retail centers, hotels, nursing homes, industrial facilities, franchises, fine art, hedge fund interests, receivables and equipment; fixed and floating rate loans; permanent, bridge and construction loans; senior/subordinate note structures; single and multi-tier mezzanine loans; intercreditor and co-lender agreements; loan sales; securitizations and syndications; environmental matters and distressed asset scenarios.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Nicotra was a partner of the Firm Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP.
A member of the New York bar since 1988, Mr. Nicotra received his J.D. from St. John's University School of Law in 1987, where he was a member of the St. John's Law Review, and his B.A. from Fordham University in 1984. Mr. Nicotra is a member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
