Orla J. McCabe
Orla J. McCabe is an Associate in the Labor & Employment practice group. Ms. McCabe represents clients in all aspects of employment law in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies, including the New York State Division of Human Rights, the New York City Commission on Human Rights, the Department of Labor, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She has defended clients against claims asserted under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family & Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the Dodd-Frank Act, the Fair Housing Act, the New York Labor Law, the New York State Human Rights Law, and the New York City Human Rights Law. Ms. McCabe also regularly advises clients regarding, among other things, alleged employment discrimination and harassment, whistleblowing claims, wage and hour compliance, employment policies, employee performance management, employee terminations and disciplinary actions, unemployment insurance claims, requests for reasonable accommodations, and leaves of absence. Additionally, Ms. McCabe routinely drafts employment agreements and employee handbooks.
Ms. McCabe has represented and advised both small businesses and large corporations in the hospitality, real estate, startup, information technology, financial services, retail, education, aviation, nonprofit, and healthcare industries. Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. McCabe practiced labor and employment law at LeClair Ryan, P.C. and Jackson Lewis P.C.
Ms. McCabe received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida. Ms. McCabe is admitted to practice in New York and in the United States District Courts for the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, and Northern District of New York.
