    Capital Gold Corporation (AMEX:CGC) announced the closing of its $420-million friendly merger with Gammon Gold Inc. (NYSE:GRS). More than 82 percent of Capital Gold’s shareholders voted, of which close to two-thirds voted in favor of the transaction. To close the transaction with Gammon Gold, Capital Gold successfully defended against a hostile takeover attempt by a rival mining company. EG&S acted as counsel to Capital Gold Corporation.
