Diane B. Sherman is of counsel to the firm and provides services to the firm’s clients throughout California. An experienced business and entertainment/intellectual property litigator, Ms. Sherman also has deep expertise in labor and employment matters.
As a commercial litigator, Ms. Sherman has litigated every kind of business and entertainment dispute, including trade secrets, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, trademark and copyright infringement, libel and slander and real property disputes.
Ms. Sherman also has substantial experience in labor and employment matters both in the unionized and non-unionized sectors, including discrimination, wrongful termination and wage and hour disputes. In addition to litigating labor and employment disputes, Ms. Sherman regularly represents senior level executives in employment contract negotiations, as well as independent producers and writers on entertainment projects. and counsels employers on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including wage and hour compliance, employee leasing, reductions in force, wrongful termination and discrimination, sexual harassment, occupational safety and the development of personnel policies and employee handbooks and conducts neutral investigations regarding allegations of workplace harassment.
Upon graduating from law school, Ms. Sherman served a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Consuelo B. Marshall of the United States District Court for the Central District of California and during law school, she served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Arthur L. Alarcon of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
