Joy Xiao, an associate of the Firm, represents domestic and international clients in all aspects of corporate and securities law, focusing on China and Asian-related international business matters. She has been advising clients on cross-border transactions for over ten years with a strong entrepreneurship and investment mindset. She was selected as the Leading International Attorney by China Sichuan Chengdu Bar Association in 2020.
Ms. Xiao currently focuses on advising global private companies going Initial Public Offerings (I.P.O.s) in the U.S. and the public offerings of special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) In addition, Ms. Xiao works with the firm’s China Practice Group for financing, Mergers, and Acquisitions, and general corporate representation.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Xiao managed a top-tier large China law firm’s N.Y. business development while also working as an associate. She bridged a New York-based global law firm with two leading China law firms and advising clients on Asian-related corporate and litigation matters. Ms. Xiao is currently pursuing an M.B.A. degree at Cornell University. She received her LL.M. degree with a certification in international business law from American University, and a Bachelor of Law degree from Sichuan University in 2010.
Ms. Xiao is admitted in the State of New York as a Foreign (China) legal counsel. She is also admitted in practicing in China since 2012. She speaks native Mandarin, English, and Cantonese.
