Maria Louisa Bianco is an Associate in the Labor and Employment Practice Group. Ms. Bianco represents and advises clients in a variety of labor and employment matters. She has experience defending clients in federal and state court as well as before various governmental agencies against claims of wage and hour violations and employment discrimination, including claims asserted under the Fair Labor Standards Act, New York Labor Law, Title VII, the New York State Human Rights Law and the New York City Human Rights Law. Ms. Bianco also counsels employers of all sizes on workplace issues such as proper pay practice, employee classification, discipline, termination, and leave. Additionally, Ms. Bianco drafts various employment policies and agreements such as company handbooks, commission agreements, and non-competition and non-disclosure agreements.
Prior to joining Ellenoff Grossman & Schloe LLP, Ms. Bianco advised and represented businesses, in both unionized and non-unionzed settings in various industries, including the hospitality, construction, retail and nonprofit sector at a labor & employment boutique in New York City.
Ms. Bianco is a graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where she was a Dean’s Merit Scholar. Ms. Bianco also graduated from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. Ms. Bianco is admitted to practice in New York, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of New York. Ms. Bianco was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2018 and 2019.
