Stephania C. Sanon is an Associate in the Labor and Employment law practice group. Ms. Sanon represents and advises clients in a variety of labor and employment matters. She handles a broad range of cases, from individual employment disputes to multi-plaintiff and class action litigation. She has experience with many federal and state labor and employment statutes, including, but not limited to Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the National Labor Relations Act, and various state and local discrimination and wage and hour laws. Ms. Sanon also provides advice and counsel on a variety of workplace issues such as employee disabilities and medical leave, discipline, termination, reductions in force, noncompetition and separation agreements and affirmative action compliance.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Sanon practiced labor and employment law at Jackson Lewis P.C. She also worked as an attorney within the Equal Employment Opportunity Office of the New York City Fire Department where she primarily conducted investigations of employee complaints of harassment and discrimination, including sexual harassment and discrimination on the basis of age, gender, race and disability. After graduating from law school, Ms. Sanon clerked for the Honorable Larry D. Martin of New York State Supreme Court, Kings County, Civil Term.
Ms. Sanon attended Cornell University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, minors in Law and Society and French Studies. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University College of Law where she was a member of the Mock Trial Team and the Florida State University Business Review.
