Deon J. Nossel, an associate in our Litigation practice, represents clients in complex commercial disputes. He brings more than two decades of experience to his practice, including substantial work in trial and appellate litigation across a wide range of industries and legal issues.
Before joining Ellenoff Grossman & Schole, Mr. Nossel maintained a solo litigation practice and served as of counsel to Sasson Law PLLC, advising on litigation strategy and handling commercial matters, including securities fraud and contractual disputes. After serving as a law clerk for Judge Andrew Kleinfeld of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, he held litigation associate positions at Cravath, Swaine & Moore; Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom; and Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel, where he worked on high-stakes disputes in a number of areas, including contracts, securities, intellectual property and constitutional law.
Mr. Nossel also served with distinction as Senior Assistant Solicitor General in the Office of the New York State Attorney General, where he argued appeals before the Second Circuit and New York’s Court of Appeals and Appellate Divisions. He was honored with the Louis J. Lefkowitz Memorial Award and the Best Brief Award from the National Association of Attorneys General for his U.S. Supreme Court advocacy.
He earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was an editor of the Columbia Law Review, and received his B.A. with distinction from Cornell University. He is admitted to practice in the federal and state courts of New York.
