Melanie A. Chieu, an associate of the Firm, is a real estate and corporate attorney focusing her practice on real estate and business transactions. Ms. Chieu has extensive transactional experience representing lenders and borrowers in connection with commercial mortgage loans, mezzanine loans and other secured transactions and loan sellers and issuers in connection with commercial mortgage backed securities transactions. She also has experience representing clients in joint venture and leasing transactions and private and public companies with respect to mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and general corporate matters.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Chieu was associated with the firms of Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP and Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner LLP.
Ms. Chieu received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University in 1997, a Masters degree in Public Administration from Cornell University in 1998, and a Juris Doctor degree from Cornell Law School in 2001, where she was a member of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy and the Moot Court Board. Ms. Chieu is admitted to practice law in the States of New York and New Jersey and is a member of the New York City Bar Association.
